Can I ask customers to leave a review on TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.?

Bookeo lets you collect reviews from your customers, and these reviews can be published on your web site. Click here for more information.

TripAdvisor and others do not let businesses post reviews left by their customers, for security reasons. It would be too easy for a business to post fake reviews. So the reviews that customers leave on Bookeo cannot be 'pushed' into TripAdvisor and similar sites.

However, you can ask customers to write a review on Tripadvisor, Yelp, etc.

1. Get the badge/link to write a review for your business from TripAdvisor, as explained in their help guide at https://www.tripadvisorsupport.com/hc/en-au/articles/200614377-Can-I-ask-my-guests-to-write-reviews-

2. Copy and paste that code in your Thank you email, in Settings>Thank you email.

3. Save

  • We do NOT recommend including one of the full widgets provided by TripAdvisor. They all use javascript, which is blocked by most e-mail clients. So at most your clients will see just a link anyway, but some ISPs/web mail services may simply block your email as potential spam. If you want to include a graphic image icon, simply add a plain <img> tag to the HTML code of your email. Make sure to respect TripAdvisor copyrights if using images taken from their web site.

  • If you do not want to also include the button to let customers leave a review in Bookeo, simply uncheck the checkbox in the Thank you email settings page in Settings>Booking Preferences
