Import customers from Microsoft Outlook, Apple Address Book and VCard or from a spreadsheet (can also import custom fields)

Bookeo lets you import existing customers from different applications: :
 

  1. Microsoft Outlook
  2. Apple Address Book
  3. Spreadsheets.


Import customers from a csv file generated by Microsoft Outlook.

To generate the .csv file, open Microsoft Outlook

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Under Export, click Export.
  5. In the Import and Export Wizard, click Export to a file, and then click Next.
  6. Under Create a file of type, click Comma Separated Values (Windows) and then Next.
  7. Under Select folder to export from, select the contact folder that you want to export, and then click Next.
  8. Under Save exported file as, click Browse, select a destination folder, and in the File name box, type a name for the file.
  9. Click OK.
  10. In the Export to a File dialog box, click Next.
  11. Click Finish.


To import the .csv file, log into your Bookeo account, go to "CUSTOMERS", click on the button, select "Import from Microsoft Outlook"



and click on the "OK" button. Browse your file and upload it.


Import customers from a Vcard (.vcf) file, generated by Apple Address Book and other applications.

To create the .vcf file, open your Apple Address Book, click on "File", select "Export" and then "Export VCard" and save it.
 

To import the .vcf file you exported, log into your Bookeo account, go to "CUSTOMERS", click on the button, click on "Import from Apple Address Book and VCard"



and then on the "OK" button. Browse your file and upload it.


Import customers from a spreadsheet (can also import custom fields).

Bookeo lets you import existing clients from a spreadsheet.
The first row of the spreadsheet must contain the field names (you can download an example spreadsheet at the bottom of this article). Allowed names are:

1. the name of "Standard fields": First Name, Last Name, Home Phone, Business Phone, Mobile Phone, Address 1, Address 2, City, Postcode, State, Country, E-Mail Address, Gender, Birth Date.

2. the name of Custom fields that must have been created before in
"Settings"/"Customer details"/"Custom fields" tab. The name in the spreadsheet must exactly match the name of the custom field you created in Bookeo. Click on the link for information on how to create Custom fields. Remember to input the custom field name in the first row of the spreadsheet column.

To import the speadsheet, log into your Bookeo account, go to "CUSTOMERS", click on the button. Select "Import from spreadsheet"



and click on the "OK" button. Browse your file and upload it.
